I would not go to the Dominican Republic @JBKO. Even if someone paid me, I don't think I'd go.

I'd find somewhere else. Would you be able to relax if you went there? Even if nothing happened, I'd be so on edge after the things we have all heard about, I don't think I'd have a good time.

@JBKO Much as I hate to say it (because traveling the world offers what no classroom or book can), I wouldn't go. Plan a trip somewhere else; there are plenty of beautiful places in the world to visit without risking your life.

Speaking for myself, I would go if I had already paid for my trip. I wouldn't drink anything from the mini bars, I'd only drink brand name bottled water, I wouldn't stay at any small hotels. Whatever is happening, it seems like it might be environmental, or so the thinking goes. Something I didn't know....there are synthetic liquors that many small hotels buy. People tend to drink a lot on vacation and one theory is there's contaminate or something in the synthetic alcohol. Another theory is that it could be over use of a pesticide. I'm not a hiking, cave exploring, wildlife seeking type of person so going off the beaten path, would not be something I would do. However, I don't think anyone has made that connection to the mysterious deaths.
