@SeaMaiden    Why in the world are you going in a store?  Many are using a delivery or pick up service.  Because I refuse to pay ridiculous fees and tips, I use the free Walmart service, where all the almond milk I want is on the shelves.

I just enter my order online, choose a pick up time and drive up to the store.  They bring my order out, put it in the car and off I go.  I never even unfasten my seatbelt.  Face to face with nobody.  I'm on my way there now...bye.

@Kachina624  That sounds great and we have checked into deliveries or pick up. It's at least three weeks to get an open date.

Re: Shopping experience at Fred Meyers today

the one thing I know is that I'm responsible for me.  I was pleased the last time I shopped for groceries two weeks ago to see well over half of those shopping were wearing masks.  The aisles hadn't yet been set up as one way streets but my neighbors are reporting that's been done now and masks are very common.

that wasn't true among those I saw in the pharmacy I went to 2 days later, so I will shop the supermarket before heading back there.  lots of what I need might cost a bit more, but I'm buying for one and being extra careful with what I'm using.  Kind of strange that those coming to work or shop at the pharmacy would be less careful than those at a supermarket, but that's what I saw.

Good for you, SeaMaiden, for coloring within the lines and following best practices. I wonder if you looked like the creature from the blue lagoon with the goggles. My son gave me a mask that painters wear. Looks like a haz mat contraption. I have cloth masks and wear gloves  when I venture out and I don't get out often. I do the same clean up rituals that you do. May we stay healthy for ourselves and others.

@proudlyfromNJ    They just this week added 8-9am for those customers who are fragile.  I checked the Supercenter earlier and they had all day Tuesday open.  Today I picked up an order from a Walmart Marketplace store.  It's just groceries.  Both are very close to me.

I went to Safeway today and hardly anyone had a a mask on, and no one was staying 6 feet away. And the arrows on the floor didn’t seem to mean anything people were going every which way.

It's infuriating.  I agree.   Some people are not taking this seriously enough.

Kudo's to you for listening to the expetts and for giving a damm about

other peoples lives.

I had not left the house for two weeks...had a special order for almond milk to pick up so made a list and off I went.

This trip I wore a mask and some air tight  goggles I bought......looked a sight.  No reason to worry about your makeup or anything all covered up!  But,  better safe than lovely😅.

I was a bit surprised that everyone was just walking about as normal...no one way aisles, and not much distancing that I could see....lots of people with  no face coverages all.  One lady my age was just a foot away from another person yaking  away .... no coverage, no concerns I guess about getting sick... many young people dressed for summer...no protection...no distancing.  😡 FOOLS.

I guess I have been holed up so long....listening to the  sombering death totals on the news...I though the public got it?

I guess not....

This is serious!   I take it very seriously.  I came home....washed my hands, changed my clothes..wiped off all my packages...Doing what I can. Of course there is no way of knowing how much this helps....but I will what I can to protect myself AND OTHERS.

So, I am good now for a couple more weeks....and now I will be looking for symptoms of the virus each day after my trip out🙁 This is no fun.

goggles? for what?

@MandyG06   The virus particles float in the air....go in your lungs....through your nose and mouth....but also enter through your eyes.... just glasses are not enough protection

..it needs to be air tight like ski goggles or such.  Just another way to protect yourself.  I bought  mine on Amazon.  They are light weight with clear lens.  Comfortable.
