In viewing bridal registry purchases I find it interesting how shoppers either assume some places are higher or they don't comparison shop. Macy's prices when you look at weekend or deal shopping meet or beat those of the popular BB&B but activity seems at those other stores. The bridal registry professionals appear to be well versed on differences in merchandise as well as knowledgeable input. Their prices and shipping quite impressive in my book. Also, they offer new couples incentive rewards so they can finish off their wishes. But then I am impressed with quality, price and service. Those might not be as important anymore. I would urge a second look.

Re: Shopper Attitude and Price

How do you know what shoppers assume by looking at someone's bridal registry?????  I don't know what a bridal registry professional is, that's a new term for me.  Both my girls were registered but they (with a little input from the guys) decided themselves what they wanted.  What are you urging people to take a second look at?  If I don't give money as a wedding gift, I alway choose something from the couple's registry.  It's easy and takes the guess work out of selecting a gift.

Crystal tree: sorry if I used inaccurate title. The woman at Macys bridal registry who helps couples with their decisions on what to include, answers questions on merchandise, explains how to keep track of warranties, etc is who I have noted is the professional. I witnessed how she was there for couple as they made decisions, imparting some unique perspectives and expertise.
Please forgive me if my encouraging buyers to take a look at more than those places that are expected to be cheaper or faster. I personally find it sad and frustrating to see our local stores closing their doors and the opportunities to compare diminishing. I too try to gift the requested merchandise.

I always give money. Let the couple choose their own stuff. Even when there are items in their registry, the couple often times changes their minds about what they want and then end up returning a gift or two...and sometimes several.

I have no idea what OP actually means.

When I shop for gifts, I do that with the same care for quality and value as I do when I shop for myself.  Even money has quality and value -  theirs, so sometimes that's what they get.
