"

  • Jennifer Kline, 51, of Wyzata, Minnesota was convicted of felony theft by swindle
  • She was found guilty of stealing $5,500 worth of merchandise from Macy's
  • She used tags from her new purchases to return worn clothes for money back

Can't say I'm surprised. They've been on a downhill slide for quite sometime. I seldom watch anymore. With Tom Brennan gone even the Waterford shows last week were boring. And Michael Valitutti has been posting about trying to get problems he's been having resolved but keeps saying he will be back soon. Maybe he should move on too.

@cjmcp   I'm quite certain that I saw Michael Valitutti on HSN a few weeks ago doing an afternoon jewelry show with Lynn Murphy. If I am correct, then he has moved on.

Several of their hosts were former Miss Minnesotas or Mrs Minnesotas. Mary Beth Roe, was also one.

Their Ultimate show host of all time was the infamous Charla Rines, unforgettable, they let her go.

In the late 90's and early 2000's their jewelry, gems, and gold were second to none, and their prices were great too, put the other shopping channels to shame.  I have gold jewelry from them worth thousands today all bought from them. And all still beautiful.

Michael V. had already moved on once before (to HSN), but then came back to ShopHQ; it's closer to Toronto for him.

I haven't watched in some time, but I remember Style @ Home with Margie, Jorge with the Waterford shows, and Laura Duffek.  And Brian Kessler.  All classic.

Laura and Brian shows were the best!

I loved to watch Charla with John and Laura Ramsey. The ladies blabbed their heads off and John hardly got in a word. But I think that was fine with him. What a hoot it was....and what fun shopping times to look back on!

I purchased some nice jewelry there and Beekman. I don't watch any shopping channel but still look at the web sites. I really like Samual B. jewelry too. I rarely purchase anything there anymore.

I still have Beekman soap bought on Evine.

Re: imedia Brands { ShopHQ } file for bankruptcy in Delaware

I listened to a podcast from Shawn Wilsie (I think his site is called Areweontheair, though he posted a link to it on his Facebook page)  He was a show host on that channel for a number of years, until he was fired some years back.  He had some interesting insights into what happened, but only spoke of things that are public, he didn't want to comment on the gossip & scuttlebutt he's been hearing.  He did list off some of the list of creditors from the public bankruptcy filing (millions & millions of $$$$) some of them were vendors that never got paid. I noticed one of the creditors for several millions was Dish Network, which is apparently why the channel is no longer on Dish.  It was an interesting listen, about 32 minutes long.
