I just tuned in to CNN, so I don't know many details.
Gunman opened fire at a McDonald's near mall.
I think nine people are dead, and up to three shooters are still at large.
That's all I know.

I saw a bit of this about 1-1/2 hours ago. Latest I've heard is 8 are dead. Gunman shot himself. They are looking for more gunmen. Munich is on lockdown. U.S. Embassy told to stay put.
Another week, another attack.
Not sure who/what is responsible this week.
Hang on people, we could be in for a very BUMPY ride.![]()

I'm not completely sure about which country, but I believe it's Germany where they've been having lots of problems with assults on women. That's what I heard a couple of weeks ago; how women haven't been able walk around anymore because of 'gang assults', etc. My heartfelt thoughts to the victims.

A gunman shouting 'Allahu Akbar' opened fire at children in McDonald's before rampaging through a shopping mall, killing at least eight people. Munich is in lockdown tonight (bottom left and bottom right), as a major police operation is ongoing around the city's Olympic Park, with the force warning people to stay in their homes and avoid public spaces. A ninth body has been found tonight and investigators are looking into the possibility of it being the attacker.

They are sending in a robot now to check out a red backpack the shooter was wearing.

I'm one of the few who have been taking certain threats very seriously. Enough said.

Prayers for Germany. Another sad day for all of us.
I just heard one of the shooters committed suicide after shouting "those f*** foreigners." 8 innocent people have been killed at a mall in Munich. This story is still fluid and changing minute by minute.

Before people chastise you for this, and they will, I will say that this is just where we are at in today's world.
It used to be that we all knew where the bad sides of a town were, or what neighborhoods it migh not be safe to be in after dark or walking alone. But today, it's open season.
Whether people want to believe it or not, we all are quickly heading to the point where every place we choose to go is going to need to be analyzed for the level of threat to our safety.
Smart people are already thinking this way, and choosing carefully both where they go, when, and how they behave when there (to mean how situationally aware they are, noticing exits from buildings, noticing the level of security etc.)
Yes, I know that if we don't continue to live our lives 'normally', "they" win. But ultimately, our safety and security are falling more and more into the realm of our own responsibility as this madness continues.

A special report broke into local programming earlier this afternoon showing people running. It's just awful.

Hi, @ROMARY. I'm glad you take precautions to be as safe as possible, but I'm surprised you feel you're "one of the few." I think most people were taught to be careful, watchful, prudent, and I hope they (we) still are.
