Anyone else see the ads for Titan Shelters for your back yard? I have a hard time imagining who would buy one, yet they seem to advertise regularly on my local TV stations. (And TV ads certainly aren't cheap!). Just curious. Anyone buy one?

Is this a bomb shelter? I've never heard of this.

Re: Shelters for the Home Owner

A funny site came up when I googled the shelters. Someone in my neighborhood when I was growing up had a bomb shelter in the backyard.

Tornadoes . . . . my next house WILL have a tornado shelter . . . either inside the house with a properly constructed SAFE Room OR . . . something outside below ground. You can't run but you can hide.

Re: Shelters for the Home Owner

Some dummy on the street behind us and down a few house had a bomb.tornado shelter installed underground in his backyard. Somehow, it has stopped all the drainage from all the yards to the stormwater drains, so now when it rains everyones back yards hold a ton of water. When we had the flood, the shelter filled up. Doesn't sound to "safe" to me. I'm like Qwacker, I'd like an above ground safe room.

Fate whispers to her, "You cannot withstand the storm." She whispers back, "I am the storm."

It is advertised as an underground ""survival and bomb shelter"". Kind of freaks me out whenever I see the ads. I never realized that we had gotten to the point of even needing to consider needing a bomb shelter! Scary!

When I was growing up, my across the street neighbors h d a bomb shelter- (no tornadoes in Southern California!) as teenagers it was a great place to party, and the neighborhood band practiced down there... it was more like a basement, not out in their yard...

Their site says they have reached their quota for 2014.

I noticed that also. Given that, I wonder why they're still advertising on TV.
