She's seeing a therapist for her eating disorder according to court documents.

I'd like her to be evaluated for any physical/mental disorders and rule that out before sending off to a college or anywhere else.

I agree. She may be an intelligent student, but she might have some other disorders - she already has an eating disorder...

I grew up in an age if you talked back, cursed, broke curfew, argued with my parents, and dared to dabble in drugs or alcohol..I would have had my butt whipped and then been handed over to the state.

I did as well - I would have been beaten to within of my life and then kicked out. That is what happened to my brother, all because he wanted to go on dates and use the family car. That was the same as all of those things you mentioned according to my father.

I am glad times have changed where parents are a bit more understanding of their teenagers and are willing to work it out with them. My brother has had his share of troubled teens with his family and he has never treated them in that manner because he remembers what it was like.

That's exactly why I chose not to follow their example. It may be the same situation with the Cannings.

If this kid is a spoiled brat, she didn't get there on her own.

I will agree with this, Rachel's behavior was enabled by her lenient parents.

And/or buying her off instead of parenting.

I honestly don't understand how this girl generates so much attention. She's not that interesting or important.

The article had some info on the father of the friend where Rachel is living now. He sounds like he's much more permissible than her own father. Really nice...NOT.

From the article:

The Facebook post went up just hours after a report that the man bankrolling her lawsuit allowed the teen to get boozed up and throw wild ragers in his home.

Powerful attorney John Inglesino, who took Rachel under his wing, let her get drunk on vodka in his Rockaway Township house when she was 15, according to a report in the Daily Mail.

And why did her allow this behaviour, she is not being served well by her lawyer and something smells fishy there as well.
