That is such sad news for her and her husband. Prayers to Shawn and her hubby, and her precious little angel.

I've always believed also that God has a reason for these things, and we don't always know what it is. I had a brother who was severely retarded with CP and I always asked HIM why. I'm sure I'll find out some day cause I don't have the answer yet. And then, sometimes we don't have to have the reason why. It's just the way it is I guess.

Very well said, Reese. I've never bought the argument that somehow public figures should expect the cruelty they get just because they chose a public career. People should be ashamed, especially publishing their criticisms where the hosts and their families can read them.

So very well said. I don't know if it's worse now because of the relative anonymity on the internet, but the propensity toward gossip and cruel remarks is loathsome. While it always says more about the character of the person writing the remarks, it still must be hurtful to those who are being talked about.

I'm not wild about platitudes, but the adage is true that "just because we can doesn't mean we should."

My heart goes out to Shawn and Joe. I've been there, and while no two experiences are exactly the same I think I can empathize.
