Re: Shawn’s podcast with Martha

I think Shawn was most likely intimidated by Martha.  Additionally, I am certain there were taboo topics decided upon ahead of time by Martha before agreeing to do the interview.

So do I.  One topic:  Life in Prison    That's one for sure.

Re: Shawn’s podcast with Martha

I didn't know about the podcast until I saw this thread so I found it and watched it.    I thought Martha was great and so was Shawn.   Martha, whether you like her or not is one of the if not the, most accomplished modern day woman.  I am in total awe of her accomplishments.  She looks fabulous at 84.  the more I see, the more I like her.

As far as Shawn not asking her about her prison time, maybe because she had only 1 hour.   Everybody knows about her prison time and she has spoken about it in many interviews.

Re: Shawn’s podcast with Martha

I am not really a Martha fan.  Yes she has had a great career, but I won't go out of my way to learn any more about her.

Not really a fan of Shawn either.  I did watch her podcast with Kim Gravel.  I like Kim.  But when Shawn asked her how often her and her husband have s3x, well, that totally turned me off to listening to Shawn.  That is such a personal question and no one's business.  Knowing the answer does not benefit or inspire anyone.  I think that EVERYTHING that Shawn does is to bring attention to herself.

Re: Shawn’s podcast with Martha

I've seen one other episode with Shawn and a subject-- it was Pat James Dementri, and it was a charming interview, with Shawn cutting up a bit, in that sort of elfin, kooky way she has.  In small doses, that can be amusing. (I don't watch Shawn's QVC presentations, as a rule.) Pat is a dear, and there was a nice rapport.

Personally, I was really disappointed at Shawn taking the Lord's name in vain in the interview.  It was 'cringe' to me, as it always is-- had not really expected that. Then, Shawn immediately sought confirmation from Martha that that was "ok".

A turn-off.   As for Martha, while I'm not a fan, she is kind of an enigmatic personality.  Quirky, so could be an interesting interview subject.  I do like her quality of being so fond of her late parents-- she speaks so affectionately of them, which is nice.  But for some reason she doesn't exude warmth in other ways ( at least to me).  I've never picked up on that from her, so, for me, her personality has limited appeal.

I like Martha, for the most part. She is an amazing business woman.

Not a fan of Shawn, at all.

One thing that surprised me that Martha said on the podcast is that she likes to cry at least once a day. My favorite podcasts to date is with Dennis Basso and also Stan Herman.

I loved her podcast with Stan Herman. She was a little awe struck, but the podcast was good.
