I bought Billy Joel's 52nd Street when I was in college and probably wore holes in it.

as Trisha Yearwood sings "The Song Remembers When"
Break up songs make me think of my HS BF " the one that got away"
and of course I have songs that remind me of DH, xbf, my sons, my HS best girl friends, slumber parties.
DH just loves Dan Fogleberg. Every time he hears him he talks about how he died too young and how lonely and sad his life must have been.
I liked Fogelberg, too. Longer, Leader of the Band, and Same Old Lang Syne.
Just for a moment I was back at school
And felt that old familiar pain
And as I turned to make my way back home
The snow turned into rain
I always snot up.

There are songs that really do transport you to another time. Whenever I hear Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me) by The Temptations, I'm eleven years old again and this song is playing on K-101 FM, the window is open and there's a breeze. I've got all my clothes on my bed and I'm deciding what I should pack for sixth grade camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
That image has stayed in my mind since 1971.
