Re: Shabbat Shalom and a Happy Weekend to All!

Shabbat Shalom to all who observe. May you have peace and comfort in this coming week.

We are expecting 8 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. I got to get to the store for coffee. It looks like I will be cooped up again. If anyone is thinking of moving to Ohio, forget it. We live in one of the most frigid states in the country. I want to move to warmer climate.

Blessings to all here and may you have peace.

Loopy, love the transformation from Pizza to hammentashen. That is priceless!

Be safe out there everyone. We're expecting 4-6" of snow tomorrow into Monday. Of course, that would make 4 snowy Mondays in a row (or is it 5?) I can't remember anymore. Of course, I have a dentist appointment on Monday and may have to cancel.

LoopyLoo your husband has quite the imagination for costumes. I love the idea of a hamentash from a pizza! Very smart man, your hubby!

Thank you everyone for posting here.

Ellen, my shvester Esther Fruma, get your tuchis back here already. We miss you and we need you!! xox

Re: Shabbat Shalom and a Happy Weekend to All!

Aw, thanks Henny and Sunny! They were good times for sure!

I was also so saddened to hear of Leonard Nimoy's passing, and read in his obit that Spock's split fingered Vulcan greeting was his idea; it was based on the kohanic blessing--a manual approximation of the Hebrew letter 'shin', the first letter in Shaddai, one of the Hebrew names for G-d. Isn't that interesting?!

Take care everyone--please keep a good thought for our Boston families and friends. 8' of snow, and counting. Spring can't come soon enough!

Loopy Loo, yes the Vulcan greeting was his idea. Did you see the interview where he explained the whole story of going to temple and peeking (his father told him not to look but he was a kid, and he did), and seeing the benediction with the four fingers?

It's so interesting to watch him explain!

Sunny--yes! I saw the video as part of the online NYT obituary! It sure was interesting and so heartwarming--we just never know where inspiration comes from (and as he said, most people didn't!)
