Series finale for "Revolution" . . . really weird ending

They must have reworked the last ten minutes or so of what would have been a "season" not a "series" ending. I actually had the feeling they did it on purpose . . . just for fun.

They had the "nanotechs" infiltrating all factions set to fight the war between Arizona and California, and sending them all to Iowa where they said God wanted them. None of them were human anymore, they were all robots (excluding the main characters). Then all of a sudden we see a huge sinister smiling clown face similar to the ones shown in scary movies on top of a building, all lit up in bright colors, then all the town buildings light up and down the main street . . . and they end it there.

I liked the show, I think season two was better than season one, and season three would have been even better. They killed the show by putting it in an unwinnable time slot at 8 PM, way too early for that kind of drama. I, for one, will miss all those beautiful faces.

NBC is constantly self-destructing, IMO. They showed a lot of previews for fall shows and none of them looked impressive to me. All they really have left is Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Parenthood.

I really, really wanted to like that show. I loved season one and looked forward to season two. But it was a huge disappointment. It was like the writers didn't know how to advance the story; so, they went no where with it. I lost interest and stopped watching. And then I read about the cancellation. It never ocurred to me that they would respect the few fans the show had and give it series end episode. I might watch the few episodes that I missed now.

None of the main characters in that show were in that fantasy ending, which is why I think they quickly rewrote the ending to make it look like the story was over. And I still think the writers were having fun with it to give it an ending like that. It was so out there.

I watched the first season and then to the point where the son was killed. Too much violence and could never tell who was a good guy.

That is true. There seemed to be no "good guys" and everyone was a killer.

However, I got stuck on the show . . . it wasn't my favorite (I usually hate violence) but the characters drew me in somehow.

Anyway, it's gone and long forgotten. I only posted about it because the ending was just so bizarre.

Ford...I thought the ending was far fetched with the nano stuff....seemed like it was part of a cliffhanger but at the same time it appears the producers tried to make it look like a wrap-up right down to Charlie giving Miles her permission to hook up with her mom.

I agree, that scene between Charlie and Miles was probably meant to be part of a season ender, but not a series ender. I believe the nanotech ending was tacked on at the end when they found out it was cancelled. It seemed so separate and totally different than any other part of the episode. It was weirder than "Lost's" ending, if anything can be.

Eric Kripke is the creator of this show and he also was the creator and writer for the CWs Supernatural, the first five years. He really is creative and innovative and its too bad the show was cancelled. I liked it and wish it had been put in a better time spot. It really is different from the usual police procedurals, super-hero, evening soap opera fodder that many shows seem to do over and over.

They should never have moved this show to Wednesday night.....I knew when that happened the show was doomed.

A shame too because it did have a really good rating.....even on Rotten Tomatoes it had a rating in the high 80's which is pretty good for the RT website.

If the network can't attract the age group 18-49 they dump the show because advertisers dictate what they want to run their commercials on and the age group they target....it's like anyone 50+ doesn't matter to the TV industry!!!!!

CBS did the same thing with Intelligence. It never stood a chance against its already established competition. Same thing with The Mentalist, although at least that scraped by for another season.
