Venus hasn't been a consistent match for Serena in a long time.  Had she miraculously upset her sister's chance to sweep the circuit, I do not think Daddy Williams would have been happy.

To allege that either would throw a match is really disgusting.

Where did I allege either would throw the match?  I believe for Venus to beat Serena she would have needed Divine Intervention.

I feel so badly for Serena, and really wanted her to win. Multi-talented, multi-faceted young woman who was so adept at setting and reaching goals, just not this time. Next year!

ITA!   She's almost beyond amazing.  I really wanted her to win...and really wanted to have America represent...and strong women of color.  She's the total package.   Next....Olympics?

I kind of wonder if she won't retire after the Olympics.

Serena has some serious muscle going on.  I rooted for Venus but I didn't think she would beat her sister.  The real surprise is the Vinci win.  Maybe the match with Venus took too much out of her.  Sorry, I missed the Vinci vs. Serena match.  Hope to catch it on a rebroadcast.

Hi italia.... doing the happy dance here too.    Never liked Serena.   She showed her true colors today after her loss.    What a sore loser.    Of course the press had her winning the championship before the Open opened.... again yipee!!

Serena may have lost but she's still a winner and her accomplishments this year aren't as my granddad would say small potatoes.

What a year she has had !

Hi June. Great post! ITA with all your posts. Love it when the press is WRONG. She is a sore loser.
