I dunno, this is not the first time she's been past ungracious and unprofessional, which is unfortunate imo.

I'm glad her coach admitted he was coaching.

It's a bad sign for women's "equality" when all she's proving is that she's as classless as a McEnroe.
I don't think her personal behavior has anything to do with equality.

@Deree Exactly. @vsm You are missing the point.

Regarding this coaching from the sideline thing, they are reporting that everyone does it and she should not have been singled out. I don't know enough about tennis to know if that's true or not.

Can't help but thinking that this US OPEN was watched by i am sure other countries (who have been involved in the past weeks) and what must they be thinking about Serena
and her hissy fit and the US.......very embarassing for the US ............but her total denial about the circumstances (even though it is on film, tape) make it even more insane......
and now she is putting a spin on it saying she was doing it for "women's rights".....and she was right that the men players say worse things...BUT AGAIN...they have also been warned and most times realize they can't go further.
She loved inciting the crowd......was thrilled the Ump didn't receive his award....told the audience to stop booing when she was on the grandstand..."maybe they were booing at you Serena???"....not supporting you.....I am sure years back when she told the Asian lineswoman that she would kill her...it was all for womens' rights.........
hard to believe people are buying her version.....sad.

I'm quite sure that at this time in history, the last thing the world is thinking and concerned about is an athlete's reaction.

The real "thief" last night was Serena. If she did not agree with the coaching penalty, so could have said her piece and had it out with the ump later. But no, she wouldn't let it go. She was losing the match and she couldn't handle it, so she had to raise a ruckuss so that the focus would be on her, and not the fact that she was being totally outplayed. She was the thief here.....stealing the spotlight from Naomi. For shame!

It's unfortunate and sad to see. She's legendary player, a true champion but she's coming apart at the seems. I think perhaps because she's older, she's the end of career and she isn't prepared for that. She isn't playing the way she wants to play, which is bizzarre because she's still at the top of the heap but she expects more from herself. Honestly, she's at the point where she's just making a fool of herself.

I think that she should quit while she is ahead. She was the best but nobody can be the best forever. She probably is very dissapointed in herself and the anger she showed was most likely her realization that she is no longer capable of always being number one....I think it must be incredibly rough to be at the top one day and then gradually slipping off no matter how hard you try or how hard you work to remain.I believe she is railing at herself...really sad.
