Hi everyone. For those of you who have been reading the thread about my 14 year old cat who started vomiting and regurgitating on an almost daily basis...I had last reported that she seemed to be doing really well. She was seeming to take to her canned food (she was going off of dry food), and she hadn't thrown up in more than a week and a half. She's been on prednisolone for 8 days...the first 7 days was for twice daily doses, and yesterday was the first day of the once daily dose. She hasn't had her daily dose yet for today.
Just a little while ago, I did my usual vomit patrol walk through the house, and came across two thin lines of vomit. Cleaning it up I found there was a lot of hair in the initial line, so I wasn't too worried. Then DH cleaned her litter and about 30 mins later was returning the trash can we keep next to the litter box, and spotted a good healthy BM specimen (sorry for being so explicit), which was remarkable because her BMs have gotten very tiny since we changed her to canned food, which the Vet said was normal. About 10 mins later...she had a soft stool which ended up turning into diarrhea. It was very foul smelling and thankfully was in her litter box.
I've read that short term use of the prednisolone:

Short-Term Therapy
An owner with a cat on prednisolone for a short amount of time should watch the animal for increased thirst and appetite, panting, vomiting, loose stool and restlessness. These side effects are common with using an anti-inflammatory drug like prednisolone and should be monitored though the owner should not be alarmed if any or all of these symptoms appear in the short-term. Should symptoms persist after treatment is stopped, consult a veterinarian immediately.
She seems calm now and is resting in her normal afternoon spot in the sun. I will be calling the Vet first thing in the morning, or will be taking her to the animal hospital in the event things get worse.
My question is, for those of you who have had your cat on prednisolone in the past, are you familiar with these side effects? And if common, like this article claims...other than calling the Vet tomorrow, is there a point I should be panicking (more than I am at this moment)???
Thanks for any insight into this...as she has always been a very healthy cat, until about 3 weeks ago.
