September Trip to Yellowstone

My husband and I are retired and it's been our dream to travel to Yellowstone. We just can't go when it is so hot. The heat affects both of us badly (and we live in Savannah,Georgia {#emotions_dlg.biggrin})

We are thinking about making the trip in September - most traveling with children will be home and it will be before the holidays - so, we thought that would be a good time.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to take in the line of clothing and what to see beside the park?

Thank you for any suggestions. We are really having to plan this trip out as extensively as possible. You know, two old people on the road.....
