For those taking part, please remember this is placing a very vulnerable population closely together.  Be careful.

I would not risk it.  Almost every grocer now offers a delivery service. I am not going to take a risk by shopping even if we have to hunker down for a few more months

I keep mentioning this, that I live in a boomtown where there are shortages and no grocery deliver/pickup services available. There are just too many people here needing food and supplies period, now and even before this pandemic happened. We have no choice but to go shopping at the stores.

The delivery services are completely overwhelmed. Some are having to schedule weeks in advance and some are no longer allowing customers to schedule at all. Moreover, they're very clear that you might or might not get what you order. Sooner or later, most of us are going to have to go to the store if we plan to eat.

We live in SE AZ and our Safeway had special hour (am) for seniors.  However according to my neighbor everyone showed up and crashed the store!  She didn't get anything she needed.  We are Not going out past our driveway to put out our trash.....

@SilleeMee : Our local Publix just posted Tuesday and Wednesday special hours for seniors. Doesn't  make any difference if the shelves are empty and products not available. We were there this morning and so many shelves were empty just like Walmart and other stores. Items not available and tried to think no can goods but  try substitute of frozen foods but also not available.Also- fresh vegetables were very limited.Frustrated. Southern Bee

@stevieb This is very true!  If you're lucky enough to scheduel a delivery, you might not get what you ordered.

I plan on going to my local grocers tomorrow morning when it opens at 6am.  I'll wear gloves and have a "Wet One" wipe with me at all times.

@on the bay

I will be standing in line, in the dark, at 6am when Walmart opens on Tuesday morning for seniors next week in the cold. Am I looking forward to that?  Heck no!

@SouthernBeeI felt so fortunate this morning because my Publix had milk and meat plus I was able to buy dishwashing soaps, laundry supplies, as well as some coffee and cereal.and even some dried fruits for snacks.

I'm okay for now -  not ill, not hungry.  It's the uncertainty of what I need to be doing to be safe a month or two from now.  I know I'm not alone with this concern and know there's no easy answer.
