Selling sterling silver (non jewelry items)

Has anyone ever sold sterling silver items such as flatware, serving trays, tea services, etc?

My sister and I inherited some of the above from our mother. I also have a sterling flatware set that I inherited from my grandmother in 1983. I have never, ever used it. I don't want it anymore and I know that my niece and nephews would never want it.

My sister and I would like to sell these items, but we don't even know where to start. Any ideas?
