Very heart warming and comforting to the Bush family.  Hope they got some rest today.  And hope "Sully" is settling into his new role.  Miss seeing pictures of him.

What a wonderful tribute.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Re: Secret Service Bids Farewell to Timberwolf/Bush 41

Agreed, a lovely farewell from the Secret Service.

Reminds me, I believe it was journalist Ron Kessler, in one of his pungent and fascinating books on the White House and the Secret Service, who said that the Bushes were adored and respected by their security details in the Secret Service.  He is absolutely riveting in his stories of the various First Families and their relationships, good and bad, with those charged with protecting them.  Whenever he's being interviewed on C-SPAN, I try to catch him, he is so colorful and dryly funny (without cracking a smile) on the subject...

But I meant to say, don't you love the code nicknames the Secret Service gives to Presidents and their families?  "Timberwolf"--  cool!

John F. Kennedy was "Lancer",  Ronald Reagan was "Rawhide",  First Lady Pat Nixon was "Starlight",  and so on.  Of course it's for security, but there's such a romantic aspect to it too...

I was captivated by the Armed Forces Body Bearers, the men carrying the casket.  What an honor that must be.  I think it was mostly the same group that carried McCain.  I recognized several of them.
