No, I’ve never driven in the B.C. interior part of the province. I also went to university in eastern Washington so I made plenty of trips back and forth across Snoqualmie pass in the winter but we were lucky as the weather wasn’t bad most years. I seldom make trips to the U.S. driving in the winter and certainly not if there will be snow in the forecast.

Glad to know there’s another viewer like me out there !  It is fascinating to watch.  Driving one of those rigs in that weather is frightening.

I am greatful to be down in AZ for a few months — hate the snow.

My son and his family are making preparations for being home bound longer.  They live in a hilly area with narrow streets.

Now watch----weather peeps getting everyone all riled up and then nothing will happen----oh could we be so lucky?????? I am in Woodinville with 10 " still on the ground and all roads are icy messes. Will try to venture to the grocery store today. Maybe the 40* temps will warm things up--------

@jlkz.  It surely takes a lot of skill and guts to maneuver those wreckers and the rigging to get those semis out of the situations into which they manage to slide.  Lots of very expensive equipment too.

Love Seattle!  Good luck with the snow.

We are expecting a mess Friday as well but this time ours will be freezing rain.  LM

@Lilysmom   I think frozen rain is much worse than lots of snow.... I hope you do not get too much.

Re: Seattle area upcoming snowmageddon...

I got out yesterday to get my hair cut, stop at library and pick up some items at Costco.  Was hoping some of the snow would melt today but it is only 29 degrees at my house.  I could not get my trash cans out last week so that is goal today.  Pull them to the curb before the next snow.  My neighbor noticed I had my car running in driveway - she came over to clear the snow off and scrape the ice off my windows.

We don't get much snow in Seattle, and when we do, the whole city falls apart. The city doesn't own a lot of snow removal equipment. We basically get snow that then melts and turns to a sheet of ice. No one really knows how to drive in ice and snow in the Puget Sound area. The other side of the state gets lots of snow, and the cities there have the equipment to deal with it. It is also a different kind of snow on the eastern side of the state. The nice thing is in Seattle we rarely see long periods of snow. It's usually gone within three days, or in this case, perhaps a week. Some years we either get a light dusting or no snow at all. I always wonder what people in the Mid West or northern states think when they see our plddling amounts here shown on the news.
