Admittedly, John may have had his demons but I've heard he and Julian began coming together when Julian was in his teens but fate stepped in when John was assassinated. John even broke away from the business and raised Sean for the first five years of his life, becoming a "house husband."  One might hopefully assume that John had many regrets for his earlier abuse and/or neglect.  It's not for me to judge.

 

At any rate, I have no idea why history has anything to do with Sean being some sort of monster because he owns a house in NY with a tree that was probably there before he was born and that he seldom resides in while he travels the world extensively.  No doubt his lawyers and their lawyers will eventually work something out.
