Re: Seahawks vs. Packers . . .Let's Rock!

My gosh, Seattle has gone Super Bowl crazy! It's all anyone can talk about! It feels good to have something positive to focus on for a while Smiley Happy

I loved this game although I wanted Greenbay to win. It had everything. Most enjoyable game to watch this year.

This was an amazing game. Everyone going nuts here in Seattle. Cant believe it came down to the last 3 minutes, then OT.

Seahawks really didn't play like they usually do early on today, and almost threw away the game because of it. I loved the after game interviews. I think they were as shocked as we all were. I can't wait for them to see the playback of the game, to see it as we did. Although...its never the same once you already know the outcome.

I hope that they learn from today and use it to power up for the big one in 2 weeks. Must beat the Pats!!! Sorry Pats fans.

One Mission - I'm in - Go Hawks!!

I'm in too! Go Hawks!!! Now I'm going to have to purchase a flag for the front of my deck!

Don't think I've ever seen players cry like that after a game.....several, including Wilson were noticeably choked up, tears running down their cheeks, etc. Seems they were as shocked as we were.

We'll see what Paul Allen is willing to do to keep the team at its playing best. He's got a lot of ego on the line here.

Allen will only be able to do so much with the salary cap...we'll see. Hoping for the best!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the other teams have salary caps too, or is that naive of me? I really don't pay much attention to the draft or to comings and goings on these teams. Tom Brady and some of the other Patriot veterans must be satisfied with their salaries because they have certainly stuck around with one team. Russell Wilson is due for a huge salary change.

I'd have to look up the exact specifics . . . but I think generally it works something like this:

Say a team/franchise has 250 MILLION dollars to spend on salary.

Between their roster of what 44 players.

IF they have a big mega star . . . that commands big bucks . . . and pay him say 12 Million per year

and add it a couple of more "stars" that command semi-big bucks at say 5 of them for 6 Million per year

then that reduces the net amount available for the other 38 players.

I have no idea if 250 Million is anywhere close to the "cap amount" or not. But I do think the 10 or perhaps 12 Million per year for star quarterbacks is happening on a few teams.

I have no idea IF the salary cap includes any coaches, assistants or defensive or offensive coordinators but my general inclination is that they are NOT included in the cap amounts.

I'm positive there is a better explanation out there. Smiley Happy

Looked it up, for 2014 . . . Team Salary Maximum is 133 Million.

long explanation on Google . . . didn't read it all . . . bonuses, incentives and all sorts of stuff.
