SeaWorld ending Orca Breeding program - Page 3

I just heard that the whales that they have now that could live for 30 plus years will continue to entertain the public for the next 30 years with the tricks they are forced to do... and continue to live in the small pools of water which would be like us living in a bath tub.

Groups have asked them to transfer the remaining Whales to a sanctuary that would provide them freedom in much larger pools of natural seawater... but Sea World wants to keep them to continue to make money$$$$$ off of of the remaining whales for years and years to come.

The best thing we as consumers can do is to NOT GO SEE THESE SHOWS AND NOT PAY TO BUY TICKETS TO SEAWORLD. I doubt most people care enough to boycott SeaWorld, but, if this would happen, we could make a change in the poor treatment of these animals.

SeaWorld has publicly said that they are ending the shows later this year, why not now then?

To boycott them until they actually do it, is the only way to make sure it does happen, IMO.

Not too sure I'll take their 'word' for it, till it actually happens.

I agree that these whales should be sent to a sanctuary with much larger pools, to live out the remainder of their lives.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Their so-called 'breeding program' was strictly for a new generation of orcas that they could continue to train for their shows an d make $$$$$$$.

This was no philanthropic 'breeding program', on their part.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Not necessarily my personal opinion, but one I heard expressed today from a gentleman who should know. I saw his credentials, but forgot his name.

This is not true.

And even if it were, the true way to protect them and prevent them from going extinct would be to protect their habitat, the ocean, and make it better and cleaner for them as well as do what we can to help prevent the climate change and global warming (and quit denying it is happening) which is causing our oceans to warm in many areas which affects these magnificent creatures both by affecting their food source and causing them to succumb to more disease than usual, NOT have humans breed them which isn't a viable solution by any means.

Those poor animals aren't meant to live in cages. I haven't participated in years and dont plan on it in the future.

So its ok for cats & dogs to be locked in a house, apt., condo or on the patoi in a cage all day long? (I was a deliverey driver for 27 yrs. & it would dive me nuts) SeaWorld rescues hundreds of sick & distressed marine life & when they recover, back to there habitat they go. But you never here about it do you. Say hi to Fee Fee on your carpet.
