@Kachina624 Does it? What if there are enough or any males? That was sort of what the article was hinting at regarding it being a concern. I know nothing about turtles so....

@FiddleDeeDee I'm thinking turtles are not monogamous so one male will breed with many females.

We witnessed turtles building their nests and burrowing in while on vacation in Cancun. The areas around the nesting grounds were blocked off. It was amazing to watch their build their nests at dusk.

I was just reading about a breed of turtle that the sex is dermined by the heat of the sand after laying. It has been so hot there for last few years that there ratio is 99% females. Soon it will be impossible to carry the breed on that island. Males require a cooler sand temp during the process after laying. I found that fascinating. Who'd a thunk it?
