At least here on the forum most have agreed that a return of SOME curriculum items that seem relegated to past eras should be returned to current.
Score! for some states that have decided to return these to the current curriculum!

@LTT1 : When I was visiting our daughter and her family last month I was so impressed to see my 3rd grade granddaughter practicing her cursive writing. I was surprised to see how well she was doing. Thank goodness her school (maybe Colorado is on that list) is teaching their students cursive writing.

When will it be learned that"inovation for the sake of inovation" is useless?
Cursive writing should have never been removed.
Remember the war over the removal of phonics???

I heartily agree with bringing cursive back to the school curriculum! Texas is my state and I could not be prouder!

I've read several other articles about this, and there are parents who are opposed to it.
They contend that their children type everything on devices and will never use or need this skill and want the time spent on other areas of instruction.
It's true that you can't please everyone!

Imo, cursive writing is like the abacus...it's outdated and has no functional purpose any more.
