The governor of Ohio just announced ALL Ohio schools will be closed for the next 3 weeks to try to contain the spread of the virus.

Interesting.....I assume the schools will be sanitized. I hope all the events/schools that are canelling will do the trick and get the virus under control. I am praying for an early summer, dry and hot.

My Granddaughters School here in Ohio made all the kids take home all their books today before it was announced.....

All extra-curricular activities were cancelled an hour before....

Will the 3 weeks have to be made up, cutting into the summer vacation ( it would be two weeks as there is an Easter/Passover break coming up)?

Maybe not the whole 3 weeks since we had such a mild winter (here in NE Ohio), most schools still have a bunch of snow days coming. I'd bet they might have to extend a little into summer, though. I'm sure the teachers will have something to say about that.

No, it will all be done online. My daughter teaches and is getting all her material ready. So no makeup. So far.

@Jordan2 , UPDATE: Now daughter is not sure. They will be doing online classes, but the higher ups have said two different things in the last hour. Everything is up in the air.

maryland governor hogan has announced that our public schools will be closed through the end of march at this point.
