Believe it or not school is back in session on August 1st in many areas of Georgia.   When does school begin in your area?

I'm north of Indianapolis a couple of schools started yesterday.  My grandson starts August 7th.  Seems like he just got out for summer break!

August 5th in my part of Georgia.

And if anyone wants to help a teacher out in stocking and preparing their kids for the year, #clearthelist is on many social media sites to click to see Amazon, Walmart, or other wishlist sites that can be bought and shipped directly to the schools.

Most of them are asking for $5-$10 books, supplies and gift cards so if you want to help prep the next generation of readers, crafters, musicians, etc. lots of opportunities to be a fairy godmother if you're looking to wave a wand.

School begins in our county in Maryland 8/26.

Some schools started 2 weeks ago in Arizona. Don't know which ones as I don't have kids or grandkids. Don't know when they start in my area but it should be real soon.  I'll find out when I go to the gym and the signs are out.

In Navajo County AZ first day is July 31. Amazing; growing up it was right after Labor Day, also my Grandson has school M-Th with makeup/catchup on Fri mornings.

School starts. Sept. 8 here in NY state.

I'm betting that those systems starting in early August or earlier are approximating a year around schedule and are moving toward it. Those starting in late August or, as has been historically the case, around Labor Day, are moving more slowly. Year around schooling with more holidays and more frequent breaks seems to be the ultimate goal of many school systems.
