We are currently undergoing some renovations at my office, so I am currently working from home. There is a fellow employee who is in charge of the contracts and design sets for our spaces across the country. She travels from office to office overseeing the entire thing. I am scheduled to go into the office briefly today to pick up some files and such (as I have been doing this entire week). She seems to be generally a nice person, but I really know very little about her, and am not really interested in fraternizing with anyone (as I rarely do nor have time to). She's called me every single day to ask me out to lunch. I normally don't take lunch and if I do, it's usually to run errands. I had already declined her offer earlier this week, but she called again this morning, almost insisting that we have lunch. When I told her I had things planned for my lunch hour, she persisted for tomorrow. I told her I didn't think it was a good idea to plan on it, but if she comes at me again when I arrive at the office - I'm not sure how I'll behave.
It's not as if she wants to discuss the office plans because I have very little input to contribute, and when she does call, she says NOTHING about the office renovations. It's mainly non-important questions (ie - Can I sit at so and so's desk? Can I borrow some of your supplies? etc). And it's not about being friendly because I've only met her once before and we had no profound conversations then neither (and that was about 3 or 4 years ago).
I'm dreading going into the office...
