I just want to say, i have never cried when a former pope has died, but this time tears are flowing, he was very special.

I've lived through a lot of Popes. Francis was the best! He lived and preached what Jesus taught. I pray our next Pope is as Christ-like.

I have not seen the funeral Mass yet, but I have cried many tears for the Pope. Not sad for him, because he is with Jesus, but sad for us here on Earth. I loved Pope Francis, he was such a kind and loving man. He embodied the way that people are supposed to be. I wish he could have been our Pope forever. I pray that the Catholic Church continues on the path that he forged for us. As a child, growing up as a Catholic, I remember the fire and brimstone that was instilled into us. This Pope tore down all of that for me.

Devout Catholic here. Never have been a big fan of this Pope. I can only hope the next in line is much better.

I completely echo your thoughts.  Francis was a loving person, and I think he best followed the doctrine of Christ.

He was not afraid to speak out,  which again follows the example of Jesus.  I sincerely hope that the next pope follows the example of Francis.  The world surely needs it!
