Live today so that you will make life better for those around you. You will
end up making your life better too. Lord, You teach that it is in giving
that
I receive. May I always have a generous spirit.

Scripture for the day:

"Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but
later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been
trained by it.
Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make
straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of
joint, but rather be healed." ~Hebrews 12:11-13

Meditation for the day:

I can learn to accept self-discipline. I can try not to yield one point
that I have already won. I need not let myself go in resentments, hates,
fears, pride, lust or gossip. Even if my self-discipline keeps me separated
from some people who are without discipline, nevertheless I can carry on. I
may have different ways and a different standard of living than some others.
I may be actuated by different motives than some people. But I can try to
live the way I believe God wants me to live, no matter what others say.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be an example to others of a better way of living. I pray
that I may carry on in spite of hindrances and setbacks.

Hello my friends! Today Deil called and mentioned tomorrow would work
better for us to come, so we plan on going there for lunch at noon instead
of Sunday. Looking forward to seeing her as always, my dear 90 year old
sister who can work circles around me!!! She truly is amazing and wise. I
learn so much from her, and usually come home with some of her recipes.
Tonight we started a retreat at our Church - It's going to be very good!!
Lots of people joined tonight! Praying for all of you for your needs, and
thanks for praying for us. Always need prayers, Sammy doesn't show any
improvement yet - and he was naughty and jumped off the bed today - that he
shouldn't do!!

I'M TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED and TOO ANOINTED TO BE DISAPPOINTED!

I refuse to be discouraged, to be sad or to cry.
I refuse to be downhearted and here's the reason why:
I have a God who is almighty; who is sovereign and supreme;
I have a God who loves me, and I am on his team.
He is all wise and powerful; Jesus is His Name; though everything else is
changeable, My God remains the same.
I refuse to be defeated.
My eyes are on my GOD.
He has promised to be with me, as through this life I trod.
I am looking past my circumstances, to heaven's throne above.
My prayers have reached the heart of God.
I am resting in His love.
I give thanks to Him in everything.
My eyes are on His face.
The battle is His; the victory is mine; He will help me win the race.
I repeat, I'M TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!" You have just taken a dose of
encouragement. God's love to you.

For life to be fullest, sweetest and rewarding:
-Do more than move; improve.
-Do more than get; give.
-Do more than regret; repent.
-Do more than look; see.
-Do more than sympathize; help.
-Do more than attend church; worship.
-Do more than have children; rear them.
-Do more than build a house; make a home.
-Do more than breathe; LIVE
-Do more than live; LOVE

Live today so that you will make life better for those around you.
You will end up making your life better too.

Lord, You teach that it is in giving that I receive.
May I always have a generous spirit. Amen.

CLOSE YOUR EYES

I will not leave you as orphans. -John 14:18

I recently took my mother-in-law to the orthopedic surgeon for an
examination. One of the tests was for her to shut her eyes and try to
walk a few steps. She was aware her balance was off, but she did as
the doctor asked, anyway. She knew that he was asking her to do
something important, and she had confidence that he would catch her when she
began to sway and fall.

Do we act with the same trust and faith in God as she had done with
the doctor? When He asks us to do something we know will be
uncomfortable or scary, are we obedient? Do we have faith that He will
be there to catch us? That He will not let us fall flat on our faces?
That His everlasting arms are big enough to hold us through the
frightening times of life?

I pray we would have that type of an obedient spirit, and have that
much faith. God tells us in the Bible He will never leave or forsake
us- and His promises are true! He has proved them over and over to us,
time and again throughout the ages as well as with me on a personal
level. Thank you, dear Lord, for you promises. Especially the one that
says you will always be with us.

Lord,
Some days as I wake up I remember You
and praise and surrender my day to You.
Then, whatever may happen,
my whole day flows in serenity and inner peace and joy.

Some other days I forget You all day long.
Then, by the end of that day I feel so lonely,
miserable and angry with the world and myself.

Lord, if I remember or forget You, I know that You never forget me.
I live for Your mercy and Your love and hope that I will be as close to You,
as I know Your love wants me to be.

Amen

Isaiah 49:15 - "Can a woman forget her own baby and not love the child she
bore? Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you."

"Family That Prays Together Stays Together"

By Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Heavenly Father, you have given us a model of life in the Holy Family of
Nazareth.
Help us, O loving Father to make our family another Nazareth where love,
peace and joy reign.
May it be deeply contemplative, intensely Eucharistic and vibrant with joy.
Help us to stay together in joy and sorrow through family prayer. Teach us
to see Jesus in the members of our family especially in their distressing
disguise.
May the Eucharistic heart of Jesus make our hearts meek and humble like His
and help us to carry out our family duties in a holy way.
May we love one another as God loves each one of us more and more each day,
and forgive each others´ faults as You forgive our sins. Help us, O loving
Father, to take whatever You take with a big smile.

Immaculate heart of Mary, cause of our joy, pray for us
St. Joseph, pray for us
Holy Guardian Angels be always with us, guide and protect us. Amen.
