That would be a problem when the EPI pen is so quick. I've done it. Remove top, jam short needle through your clothes into the side of your thigh and press the plunger. Faster than a regular injection.

Hi @Noel7! Adrenaclick works the same way the Epipen does. Only difference is different pharmaceutical companies.
There are several medications out there that are placed in self injectors. Adrenaclick doesn't take any more time than the Epipen.
Hope that helps!

Hi @pitdakota
It does help! Good to know and thank you, my daughter has to carry an EPI pen and we keep one at home for her.

yes, it's good she's backing out.....now.....

it really makes her look stupid...and I still question her ethics.
Go to any search engine, type a company's name &
the words 'stock price' and you can get a history of said stock.
Can't make me believe she didn't know all this info.
Can't make me believe her manager didn't know all this info.
And that almost makes it WORSE than if she continued
promoting Mylan products....knowingly signing a contract to
promote a product w/ a questionable stock history.
Everyone need to taps the brakes &
really unpack this for what it actually means.
She knew. She cashed the checks. Comes out smelling like a rose.
Yeeeeeah....no.

I believe chances are that SJP and her manager are just like the majority of Americans, they had no clue as to what the company charged for any of the medications they make. Most people don't and haven't had to due to insurance covering or only having co-payments.
So I do salute her for taking a stand when she found out. Good for her!

@pitdakota, this is good news. There are stories abound about how this Pen works differently than the popular epi pen. What makes them different?

I looked to find a patient education video for the Adrenaclick so maybe the video will help.
Self injectors all work along the same prinicples. They just may have a few differences, but they are basically the same operation for patients.
Here is the website with the instructional video:

It's not the 'what they charge'...it's the stock price increase.
As a savvy investor, you look for stuff like that...and you ask a million questions who/what/when/where/how the stock price increased.
ESPECIALLY when you become a paid face of the brand.
Maybe I'm "smarter than the average bear".
And if SJP was that stupid, she needs to fire her manager....pronto.
I'm betting she was a shareholder before all this blew up.

@sidsmomMethinks SJP is doing this because she cares. Stock prices aside, she still has a son who used this drug, like many Americans. Do we know whether or not she sat around wondering about her portfolio? Maybe she did. Maybe this last hike was the last straw for her. Some people "grow" a concious and some never get one.

I salute her also. Her leaving has been a real statement against the rise in cost and the CEO of the company.
There is no evidence that she knew anything untoward and failed to act. Just another witch hunt.

@Noel7 yeah I have to be honest I wouldn't dog out SJP on this either. She has a child that depends on having one of these pens at the ready. I am sure that was her driving force in being a spokesperson as it must be terrifying to have a child these days with these allergies.
I also think she hasn't seen a health insurance policy in decades based on her income so she probably has no clue how messed up things have become.
I always worked and had insurance but I am relatively healthy and didn't need to watch over my coverage plus I was responsible for my mom and I was very involved in watching over her coverage.
Now that I have been unemployed for a long time and am struggling to secure adequate healthcare, I remember back in the day when my co-workers would complain about co-pays and deductibles, things that weren't on my radar at that point in my life.
They certainly are now.

A problem I see with using a syringe versus the epi pen is hesitation. I'm a teacher and while the epi pen still causes apprehension you're not seeing the needle so it's easier to administer.
I say this because I used to have to give my horse shots weekly. The first few times was really difficult-and we're talking about a large animal that hardly felt the injection. It took several times before I didn't feel apprehensive and hesitated. Most likely most teachers are not going to have that type of practice.
Now make that a child and you're the teacher in a life saving moment. Trying to inject a syringe is mentally very difficult. I think the epi pen's allure is that you don't see the injection so the scariness is reduced.
