You do have to know a couple basic football terms to make sense of the title. I re-read my title, imagining I knew absolutely nothing about football, as opposed to just a little. And it was completely confusing! Kicked off? (kicked off of what?) Female Kicker? (sounds violent!) And what's a Vandy?
