@rockygems123. I've never even heard this show mentioned but itv sounds interesting.
Every year there is a Western Antiquities show featuring all sorts of Wester, cowboy, and ranch antiques. Everything from silver jewelry to horse tack. It's held at a building on the fair grounds in Albuquerque. I love this show. It's usually held about this time of year.

New Mexico is my favorite travel destination. It has been my dream to attend Indian Market but never have. I was last there about three years ago and found prices have really increased. Didn't buy as much as I had on previous trips. I collect jewelry and kachinas (only the old style), and storytellers. We mainly went to see the Georgia O'Keefe museum. Such a beautiful, peacful, and diverse place.

@sugarbee. I don't think Santa Fe has changed much for hundreds of years. They do have a Walmart on the outskirts built in the pueblo style, of course.
You may have made your purchases from the Indians who sell on the portal by the Plaza. They're there 365 days a year.

The best trip I ever took was with my bff before I was married. We flew into Albuquerque and then drove to Santa Fe, Flagstaff, Sedona and then Phoenix. They were all beautiful, but my favorite place by far was Santa Fe. I bought so many pieces of jewelry and other items including a turquoise watch that I still wear. I hope to go back one day. 🩵

@Kachina624 I would love to visit. What holds me back is two dogs.
They are a breed that can't be left alone and they are always with us even on vacation.
This definitely holds us back. When our two other dogs passed months apart, we swore no more dogs.
That didn't work. I guess we lied.
These two, I guarantee will be the last two.
We have always been travelers and I miss it.

@Carmie. I have the same two problems. Both of mine came from shelters as rescues. One is very sensitive and it would break her heart if I left her in a kennel situation, she'd assume she'd been abandoned again. I just can't do it.

@Kachina624 and @Carmie- You are good dog moms!
I do some work in the community with our former police chief, who has become a good friend. He's an 81-year old widower who just adopted his new best friend last month, a mixed-breed large dog. It is never too late - as long as we have a plan if we can no longer care for them!
Anyway, I'm kind of in your situation too. One of our kitties has a rare disease and severe asthma. DH makes his pills, and he takes medicine by inhaler twice a day. There is only one veterinarian we trust enough to leave him with, and he's not close by. We will leave him for a weekend, as long as someone is here with him. Any longer he goes to our friend. I always can't wait to get home to him.
I hope someday to get to your home. When I was a newer teacher my best friend was from Albuquerque. I always hoped to get out there. And I want to visit Taos. Someday I hope to get to the Indian Market. That would be a dream come true! DH has been there for an AVMA convention and saw my friend and her husband. DS was a toddler so I couldn't go. At least DH came home with some beautiful NA pieces! ![]()

I've been to the Albuquerque one, which is less formal (at least it was last time I was there). I used to go out there for business on occasion and treated myself to a necklace of semi-precious stones each time. I treasure them and wear them often. Also a sterling lizard pin with moonstone eyes.
My son visited the Santa Fe market and brought home a necklace of green turquoise beads. The bottom bead is in the shape of an arrowhead. It's a fave.
