And of course the thunder is the worst part of it for me because of the old senior outside dogs who live in my yard that are so terrified. It's pouring here still and again with chance of thunder later this afternoon - same as yesterday.
A news report a few minutes ago said parts of downtown San Francisco have flooded. I'm glad I decided to stay home.

I love storms, too, and yes, the CBS crawl said this storm will last another 2 to 3 hours and then will be heading south.Rain! I heard it will head south but will not be here in the Los Angeles area. Take care.

Mick - I haven't seen reports of anyone who was hurt that way, but there are a lot of warnings out there and this regarding lightning:
"And while you're at it, switch off your appliances and electronics before the storm hits. Such devices as your computer, television and air conditioner all provide potential pathways between the lightning and you."

If you are dancing, I'm chanting. We need all we can get here in S. CA - just not so much it cause flooding problems and such. The quaking is enough trouble.

I've heard that warning for years. I'll have to check online, see if anyone has been hurt.
Yes! If lightening hits your house it can travel right through the wires. Same with talking on a telephone. I read a story in Readers Digest about a woman who was on (or near?) the computer when lightening struck and she was badly injured.
Also shouldn't shower or wash dishes in a lightening storm.
Hope you are okay all you Californians! Is the water just washing away in that parched ground or is it soaking in?
