Samsung Laptop Power Cord Replacement Question

Is is OK to replace it with a generic one that is compatible or should I get one that Samsung supports? I checked online reviews on the genric ones and they are very mixed. Any expert opinions here? If I have to type on my tablet or phone much longer, I might just lose my mind....LOL

Re: Samsung Laptop Power Cord Replacement Question

I would only replace it with the manufacturer's recommended cord.

That's what my gut is telling me, but I hate haing to spend $75....the laptop is about 3.5 years old and I dont know how long it's going to last. It's great now....but that can change in a minute.

Check EBay for a replacement. You might find it much cheaper. Or Amazon.

Me too. I had to replace, and looked at many different "generic" ones. Went with the Laptop's Manufacturer's replacement. It cost more, but I didn't want to take the chance of messing up my computer.

My Sony laptop battery died after 3 years. I could only use it plugged in. I wouldn't invest 75 bucks in a 3 1/2 year old laptop. I went with a Mac and I'm not looking back.

$75 is a LOT cheaper than a $1000!

I had to replace the screen on my laptop that is a few years old (one too many times knocked on the floor). It was somewhere around $200 and well worth it to me because I love my laptop and did not want a new one.

Re: Samsung Laptop Power Cord Replacement Question

Had to recently replace the power cord for my MacBook Pro. I believe it's getting close to 3 years old, but I don't plan on replacing it any time soon. I didn't even consider a power cord replacement other than Apple, even though it was $80.

She could probably get a laptop that is a lot better in terms of storage, power, etc. than what she has now for under 500 bucks. I just don't think laptops last all that long. 4 years is pushing it. Why throw good money after bad when something else is probably going to go wrong down the line, like the battery? Or hard drive? Just my opinion....and experience with laptops, that is. And my sony was really really high priced and top of the line at the time I bought it. Was trash after 4 years. That's why I went with an Apple. I hope to have this at the very least 6 years. Hopefully more.
