LOVE LOVE LOVE chopped salads and Cobb salads and chicken Cesar salads and salads with fruit and nuts in them such as apples, pears and strawberries paired with a fruity vinaigrette and slivers of almonds or chopped walnuts. Love Gorgonzola or blue cheese sprinkled on them too! I can live on salads!

I eat a huge salad for lunch just about every day. My current favorite contains

Romaine lettuce

celery

carrots

sugar snap peas

pecans

beets

fuji apple

bean sprouts (I've never had any problems)

spicy sprout mix (again, never a problem)

Dressing - EVOO/Apple Cider Vinegar/Mrs. Dash Extra spicy

Sunflower seeds are good in a salad too.

It's got to be Romaine Lettuce and I like any combination of the following:

Cucumbers

Cauliflower

Carrots

Spinach Leaves

Radishes

a couple of Cherry Tomatoes

Tri-colored cheese (any will do though)

Parm Cheese

Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Mandar-in Oranges (what's up with not being able to type Mandar-in?????)

Sunflower Seeds

topped with a Vinaigrette or Ranch Dressing

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.

I like red bell pepppers in my salad, and Italian dressing is my favorite.

Trader Joe's has a really good salad made with cold couscous. It has lettuce, red cabbage, chicken breast, couscous, pecans with a basil dressing.

So many restaurants used to have great salad bars. Not so much anymore. Marie Callendars was one of them. I like romaine, garbanzos, green peas, beets, chopped egg, bacon bits, olives, sunflower seeds and good Roquefort dressing. I like spinach salad with egg and bacon and a light oriental dressing and sesame seeds. I guess I just like most everything on a salad except bell pepper, store bought tomato and onion.

I won't turn down a good potato or macaroni salad either. Smile
