Some of you remember my post about my neighbor who was hit by a car when she had to go around a roofing truck blocking the sidewalk in my neighborhood.
Dear Irma lost her fight and passed away at hospice yesterday.
Prayers to her family.

What an unnecessary tragedy that didn't have to happen.
I'm so sorry to learn this. Thanks though for the update.
I hope the roofing company and the city learn something from this.

It's heartbreaking because this lovely lady was always out and about despite her limitations. She walked every day. Her husband passed away 2 years ago and they would walk together.
It's sad when you can't even be safe in your own neighborhood.
Thanks Romary for your thoughts.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts!!

Wow! That's truly awful. Whoever owns that truck is in a heap of trouble as it's illegal to park a vehicle that blocks any portion of a sidewalk. May poor Irma rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear about Irma. I lost my dear 89-year-old next door neighber a couple years ago from a car accident, and I really miss her too.
One of my pet peeves is people who park across the sidewalks. In my neighborhood, they do it all the time. Mind you, there is plenty of street parking available. Any kid on a bike or mom pushing a stroller has to go into the street to go around them. Some people are so inconsiderate of others.
