@Bookplate

Lol, thank you for letting me know that.😂❤️

It sounds absolutely delicious though.  We do have an excellent deli that I know would have it....although I clearly never have.  I look forward to trying it.😃❤️

Re: 🦷 SURGERY UPDATE 🦷

Two protein drinks that taste and look exactly like chocolate milk that are available online at Costco are:

1.  Orgain 20 g. clean protein grass-fed protein shake, 3 g. sugar, no artificial sweeteners, gluten free, creamy chocolate fudge.

2.  Fairlife Nutition Plan, 30 g. protein, 2 g. sugar, chocolate flavor.

The Fairlife protein shake available in my warehouse has more sugar in it and the reviews on taste all say it is too sweet.

The Premier Protein shakes are thicker than the two above, are very sweet and have a weird taste to me.  They are more palatable when very cold.

In my search for a high protein shake for my late husband when he couldn't eat due to chemo, I came across this recipe, serve an 8 oz. serving 3 times per day:

Egg Beaters (pasteurized), 2 or 3 servings

Protein shake, like Orgain, Fairlife, Premier Protein

A scoop of whey protein

A serving of Benefiber or other fiber supplement

Fruit:  an apple, banana, or berries

3 scoops vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt

Chocolate syrup

Fill the rest of the blender with milk or milk substitute

Re: 🦷 SURGERY UPDATE 🦷

@cheriere I'm so glad you have the worst behind you and can now recover. I also was going to suggest the Premiere Protein Shakes. They pack around 30g of protein in them and come in a variety of flavors. They are best served chilled, over ice and have really come in handy for times when I couldn't eat but needed the nutrition. So glad you are feeling good enough to be back with us! ❤️

YEAH!!  Here she is.   Here's the Patient!

@cheriere   Woman Very Happy

I looked into my Crystal Ball!

Guess what I saw??

                        @cheriere 's

     Beautiful Smile  (and those Pearly Whites!!)

So glad  you're feeling okay!

I dont eat much meat, but I get "Protein Starved," & so run down, that even opening the Fridge Door is almost too much, (let alone prepare something in a Microwave).

I keep kits of StarKist "Tuna Fish, Crackers/Mayo" pack in the Fridge, & almost like taking my medicine, I assemble/eat these contents.

If you dont mind eating Tuna, you might want to ask the Doc if this is okay to eat for the next few months, with your temp teeth?

I buy a 12pk from Amz, but perhaps singles of these Tuna kits are at the Grocery?

And the "Hormel Complete" kits (like Spaghetti, Chili, or Swedish Meatballs,  (not sure abt Mac & Cheese?))     at the Grocery Store might have dinners that are soft enough, that perhaps by asking your Dental Surg, he/she might approve of?  The meat in these are soooo incredibly soft, perhaps they can easily be squished with yr folk, enough for Dental Surg approval?

There's other "Hormel Complete" meals that Im suspecting the Doc might not believe soft enough, like their Chicken Breast, Pot Roast, (stringy meat kinda meals) etc,      (unless Blender  Woman Frustrated )  But Doc wld know.

And there's "High Protein Milk Shakes" too.

For decades, I keep S/F   "Spiru-Tein" Protein Powder   brand here in pantry,  for fast Protein hit too.

     ("Very Berry"  &/or  "Chocolate Peanut Butter")

(I dont taste Peanut Butr but this is their best in a Chocolate flavor)          Blender with Milk.

       (I need to double check for it's comparatively current best, up-to-date ingredients).

Others here might have Protein meal ideas, or Protein Shake brand names too.

               WELCOME BACK!   @cheriere

You had/have a whole CHEERING SECTION here pulling for ya!      Still pull'n for ya!

@River Song

First, please allow me to give my deepest heartfelt condolences about your husband.  Just from reading your post, I can immediately tell you loved him very much and really cared for him in all ways,❤️

I truly do appreciate the thought you've put into providing such detailed research, recommendations and delicious recipe.  I must say, it sounds fantastic!  That's a great way for me to work protein into my diet.  Admittedly, I've pretty much been fixing regular milkshakes morning, noon and night.  Unfortunately, I've been getting little from them but calories.  The additions of egg beaters, whey protein, benefiber, and protein shake will make an enormous difference.  I'm guessing , I can add these same ingredients to amp up my fruit smoothies as well. 😃❤️

Again, thank you so much.  It means a lot to me that you took the time to share this with me.❤️

Re: 🦷 SURGERY UPDATE 🦷

I was thinking chopped liver too, finely chopped with no hard pieces, just like my dear Mom used to make, took hours in the food processor to get it so smooth. she only used beer liver, not chix.  . When I was waiting for my bone to fuse, I had to eat pretty much just on the one side but that was nothing compared to you, but trust me this too shall pass. How about some Matzo Ball soup with very soft and fluffy matzo balls ?

Thank you so much. 😃❤️

I'm so glad I felt up to posting today.  I'll probably try and eat a little soup, take my meds and call it an early night.  But, it feels nice to be back amongst friends.

This past Saturday and Sunday, I took a bunch of pics outside.  I thought I probably wouldn't be up for bird watching this weekend lol.
 Normally, I can always eat lol.  It's in times like these, I'm so thankful to have healthy friends who know about protein shakes and bone broths.  This is something I've been meaning to incorporate into my diet for some time.  Now, I'll hopefully be able to start a good, lasting habit.

I appreciate your recommendations.😃❤️

Re: 🦷 SURGERY UPDATE 🦷

@cheriere  I'm so glad that you had a successful dental surgery! You're brave and stong- we all knew that you could do this! Here's my favorite smoothie recipe book that I got on Amazon- I make a ton of breakfast and post-workout smoothies and shakes from this book.  I like that its written by a dietititan.  The smoothies are super good and the book is only $13.  You have a ton of great tips and tricks from posters here, so i have nothing to add other than the fact that I believe in you, I'm rooting for you and I think you're awesome! Smiley HappyHeart
