STUPID Facebook

Is it me? When I want to take posts off my home page.......all it lets me do is HIDE the post but it comes back in hours or the next day.........How can I get rid of them and keep them from showing up all of the time? I don't want to take away the friends justs the posts and never see the same ones over and over. Thank you. WHAT DO I DO?
