Re: STAYING HOME OR PARTYING TONITE?

[ Edited ]

staying home, relaxing with a couple of cocktails, having a few appetizers, and calling my s/o at midnight to wish him a happy new year!

i need to relax......it has been a busy month and i really no longer like going out on new years eve. will try to find a good movie on tv OR pop one into the DVD player....there are a few holiday movies that i have not had a chance to see this year since being so busy. maybe the movie holiday inn.

Home, after I pick up the pizza I ordered. I'll be up early tomorrow and out for a run while everyone else is recovering. I love the peace and quiet of early morning.

Me, hubby and my 2 kitties are tucked in for the night....  Good movies and good wine is all we are having.

I have had the weirdest week of deadlines and various crises.  I am staying home with a heart full of gratitude that all is peaceful again.

@MaRina, thank you but I don't feel right to claim it as my loss. It was my friend's brother and I did not have the pleasure of knowing him. We were friends through work but her family's loss was just so devastating. I have never forgotten it and even though I never knew him, I think of him every single year on NYE. I have lost track of her as this has been 32 years now but I'm sure that family will never be the same. They are certainly in my thoughts and prayers tonight. I don't think you ever get over something like that.

I wish everyone here a safe and happy New Year!

On fb today after reading two fatalities on a HWY south of us  the victims were from my city, my heart sunk as I knew my son's gfs parents were traveling the same HWY found out shortly after it wasn't them. It was a 20 car pile up, sounds like first accident caused the second. People need to slow down, get off their phones.

Happy safe New Year @Qgirl26! I agree I don't think one can ever get over such a senseless loss.

For all those staying home....the New York Philharmonic New Year's Eve concert is live on PBS right now (at least in the Eastern time zone). It's all American classics. I was surprised with tickets to the season opening concert this past fall and it was fabulous!
