I don't leave the house. When I was 20, I had a friend who's brother was killed in a car accident caused by a drunk driver on New Years Eve. I have never forgotten it. Too many crazy people who don't think they are near as drunk as they are out behind the wheel of a car. I much prefer the safety of my home.

@Qgirl26 That is why we stay home New Year's eve, so sorry for your loss.
We were planning on going to the beach today but it's raining and not going to clear until 4pm which would mean we wouldn't get home after enjoying the beach and sun until 7-8pm we will not be on the road that late tonight.
Happy New Year!

Staying in & cuddling up with my husband & watching the festivities unfold on our high definition t.v. We'll have some cheese, crackers & some hot appetizers. We have to skip the champagne tonight because dh will have to pick our son up from a club around 2 or 3 am!!
We don't mind because we have a good kid who will be partying with friends. We've had our share of partying in our younger days when drinking & driving wasn't the issue it is today. We have peace of mind knowing our son & his friends will be safe tonight!!

@dulwich wrote:Six of us dining at local hotel then into their bar where live music if we fancy dancing. Can walk to hotel so no driving involved. Usually we stay home so this will be a nice change I hope. We live in "western cowboy" town so bound to be very lively in bar.
@dulwich...That sounds like so much fun!...I love the Texas line dancing and those cowboys really know how to dance...I think it was "Urban Cowboy", with John Travolta, where I saw some great line dancing and some other movies.
Enjoy!

Staying home. Too many drunks on the road, drunks that text, drug users that drive, and gunfire.
We have pets and bring them indoors as they are frightened by all the noise and the gunfire and illegal fireworks.
Those sorts of people have tanked it for others who know how to behave and celebrate in civilized ways.
