I can't complain.  I'm thankful for SS and Medicare. But I do understand that SS is not in a good situation and will likely have to be altered at some point in order for it to survive.

I'm sure our government is mailing out monthly checks to dead people --- and prisoners. There goes our money!!!! Retired Americans deserve MORE MONEY!!!!! The politicians need to get a decrease in their salaries, perks, bonuses, free cars/gas, free meals and free vacations with their families. We also have way too many politicians that money can buy!!!!

@kivah I'm sure some mistakes are made and I really don't understand why that seems so hard to fix, but the larger money loss is more likely from the fact that we are living longer and drawing more years than the original program was ever designed to cover.  Add to that the fact that when Baby Boomers were all working, we were such a large wave that our contributions covered our parents' generation.  But now that Boomers are retiring in huge numbers, there's not enough workers to cover our long retirement years. At least that's my understanding?

Anyway, I will never disagree with you about politicians! And I'll stop right here otherwise this thread will be taken down.  Smiley LOL
