I have a smart phone. I can put it down any time I want. It's easy. I don't know why people make such a big deal out of them, like they're some big, scary monster or something.

"I only keep them in my purse, locked up never to see the light of day." LOL

I do business on my phone. I stay in contact with my family with my phone. I do so many things with my phone. I put it down and have face-to-face conversations with poeple. It doesn't interfere with life. I don't talk on it or interrupt others with it. It just makes my life easier.

I have a smart phone and can't imagine being without one today. It certainly makes my life easier!

Calls, texts, GPS, photos & videos to name a few. It's nice when I want to quickly check on the weather or see when my Amazon order is arriving, etc.

My DD sends either photos or videos of her baby almost everyday. Yes I can see them on my laptop or tablet but sometimes it's just easier to pick up the phone when I hear a notification. As for notifications you can adjust those too.

Tomorrow I have my handmade felting class. I found a video tutorial on YouTube on creating felted flowers. I sent it to my phone so I can go over the steps tomorrow.

I see my smart phone as a very handy tool!

I think its Verizon more than the state. When we gave up our landline, more than five years ago, it was because there was a problem with our line and it wasn't working at all. Verizon told us it would be at least 3 weeks before they would get to it. Landline maintenance clearly has not been a priority with them for a long time.

Even if I didn't use it for work I would never give up my iPhone or iPad. Efficient, useful, entertaining and many other things.

At my job I have to have a smart phone for "two step verification". If I want to view my pay stub, get my W2 form, look or change the amount I am putting in my 401k, apply for a vacation or time off. Anything like that, I have to log in then my phone will ring and I either get a text or an actual call and then and only then can I access my information. So, doing away with smart phones would be difficult in my case.

It's not the state. It's AT&T and they do not want to continue maintenance on old technology copper land lines because of the cost.

I'm not saying I agree with it but don't be surprised if this proposal isn't coming soon to an area near you.
