Re: SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS QUESTION

@Tinkrbl44  we are both on social security.  The IRS site is showing that we are due to receive our stimulus checks on April 30th, by direct deposit.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

What if only one Spouse gets direct deposit into the checking account on Social Security and the other is not yet getting a social security check at this time

will we get a direct deposit?

or check by mail?

we mail our joint Tax statement ....no online.

Re: SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS QUESTION

I received my direct deposit 2 or 3 days after they first began distribution.

That would be a NO not yet for me. I get SS so it will be a direct deposit.

Re: SOCIAL SECURITY RECIPIENTS QUESTION

Go to irs.gov/eip.  That;s the website that can let you check on the status of a payment and give you information about receiving the payments.

@SeaMaiden - have you checked the IRS site!  Click on the Coronavirus relief check thing and then where's my check of get my payment.  Then Input your social security number, date of birth, street address and zip code and see what it shows. I actually checked on my husbands first as he is listed first on our tax return.

Mine showed that they didn't have our direct deposit info,  so I input that and then it picked up the same information for me.

Our payments are being deposited this Thursday.

Yes, but SS recipients who receive their monthly benefit via direct deposit are supposed to get their stimulus that way too, even if they never provided direct deposit info for tax refunds.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to any of this, and none of it is going according to plan.  I know people in all categories who are not getting their payments the way others are in their same category.

A friend of mine on SS and railroad retirement hasn't received hers yet and we can't figure out why, but she was told by her taxpreparer another wave of $$$ goes out in May.

Also I read if you filed taxes & received a refund and elected for your tax preparer be paid their fee out of your refund, you will get a paper check.    I dodged that bullet by paying my fee with a credit card.   I received my stimulus 2 weeks ago.  I'm on SS retirement.

I agree with the no rhyme or reason
