My DIL NYC school teacher, goes in Tues, Sept 8 for planning and cleaning.

Students start SEPT. 16.

My Long Island grandchildren started today--2 days a week in school full day and one day of virtual.

I'm so worried for all of you. I lost my cousin to COVID. She was a teacher in Staten Island. She was called into a meeting to discuss the online teaching and the teacher seated at a table beside her gave her the virus. This was while the CDC was telling people not to wear masks. There was no social distancing in the meeting. The meeting could have easily been done via video. Her husband also contracted the virus and he survived.  A tragic, needless death. She was in her fifties.

I am so sorry for your loss @Mindy D

My daughter just posted on Facebook about the number of Covid cases in her school district and a friend who is a teacher will have to do remote teaching in another district for the same reason. My grandson's district is not opening this Fall and doing everything possible to keep students and teachers safe.

@Mindy D   So sorry about your cousin.  This virus is terrible.
