Last night central NC received several inches of snow & more over night. It’s definitely clean and beautiful, but oh so inconvient.
In my small town, there are very few sand trucks and just as little removal equipment. Result? Roads, especially secondary ones aren’t cleared for days, schools closed mainly because buses can’t get to the county roads although city streets get cleared. It’s as if the sidewalks roll up... the town and everything in it is CLOSED.
I’m grateful our power lines are buried underground, but there’s always the possibility of main lines being knocked out by fallen iced trees.
Thank goodness, since we’ve been having strange, cold and icy winters, I’ve kept an emergency closet area with extra batteries, lanterns, several gallons of bottled water, etc. I also have a shoebox w/ a small stash of dark chocolate (😜).

@Shanus Do you live near Asheboro? I am near Winston Salem, and we thankfully were spared the snow and ice but do have the arctic cold. It looks like our state will be back to normal next week. Enjoy your forced hibernatiotion!

I'm in Wilmington and we got 3 inches. Everything is at a stand still.

I think this is one of the times I wish I lived back in NY where it snows, roads cleared and the day goes on as planned.

Also, when there's notice of an oncoming storm, we fill the tub ( or buckets ) with water to use for flushing.
Apologies for the juxtapositioning...me or the iPad wasn't cooperating !
