Dr  Mark Siegel talked about the risk of heart attacks with people

shoveling snow. Shoveling for just 15 min. is equivalent to bicycling

5 miles ! People 50 and up are 4 X more likely to have a cardiac

event due to strain on the heart. If you normally don't exercise than

you should not try shoveling snow.

Hospitals see an increase in head injuries and broken bones due to

slips and falls.

If you need any shoveling done, please, please, get a

young and fit  hunk  person to help you out !!

Nice reminder Morning Lover, thanks for posting. We might get a sprinkling of rain today here in CA but it sounds like plenty of people may need to heed this warning.

John, are you listening? Woman Happy

Stay healthy everyone!

A fit young hunk, huh? And here I thought Morning Lover meant you liked the am hours. Now I wonder.Woman Wink

Where to find one tho....

I probably spend an hour actually shoveling and another 2-3 hours with the snowblower.

I found mine in the Yellow Pages, he's called The Snowman! Shows up without being called, does a great job. There are three of them and they are done in 15-20 min.  I still shovel or broom the back deck for my puppy, but that's easy enough.

There's a longer waiting list for that than a Drs. office.   Everyone wants to be first.   My neighbor used to do landscape and I was not the first on the list even tho he had to drive by to go anywhere.   "Of course, we're friends so I understand''

Here's my driveway, we snowblow about 8 snowfences through the lawn, then another 120ft to the mailbox which is on the left.   When that's all done it's doggie trails in the back yard.  I have a Dachshund and a Min Pin.

@MorningLover

Thanks for taking my silliness in the spirit in which it was intended. It did just what I was hoping for which was to make you laugh. Woman Happy

Things in CA are, coincidentally enough, almost the same as last time I posted. We're getting a little rain again today and hopefully some snow in the mountains. Not enough to constitute a great storm but it is going to be followed by some colder weather--by our standards anyway!

Speaking of excitement...my day has been spent on doggie spa day complete with a bath, a nail trim, and some special attention to her dental hygiene. Sometimes I think she should be called the master instead of the other way around. She has me wrapped around her little paw!

I hope your Sunday has been a good one. It was nice to hear from you.
