I had the same experience at Walgreens but the sales clerk told me that they didn't get any in because in the past the item wasn't popular.

@dex  Walgreens is famous for the old "bait and switch"  scheme.   I don't shop there because their prices are high and they use unethical business practices.

Years ago the Texas Attorney General sued them because they'd advertise merchandise they didn't have.   Anyone who experiences this should complain to your state's attorney general consumer fraud division.

Besides playing games with their merchandise, Macy's also plays games with their coupons. There are so many items that are excluded. I used to shop there often, but not anymore. I had to return 2 items to Macy's recently because they had a STRONG perfume smell. The whole store reeks of perfume. I actually had a headache when I left the store.

The Macy's I go to used to have the women at the entrance into the actual mall with the perfume that would follow you wanting to spray you with it and be shocked when you said no thank you.

I would zig-zag trying not to be noticed!

They have since stopped.

I did the same!

Re: SNEAKY TRICKS FOR SALES......

Personally I love Macy's.  All their coupons list the excluded items so I know where I stand ahead of time.  Our Macy's has their cologne at only once entrance.  There are several ways to enter Macy's.  They've always made good on any problems I've had.  Once I purchased a handbag on presale and they could not find it when I went to pick it up.  They had to order and have it sent to me, which they did.  When it arrived it was scratched.  I took it back and explained the hassle it was purchasing this bag.  They sent me a new bag and gave me three $50 gift cards.  Also if the computer won't accept the coupon I have, they always override it for me.  I'm a happy customer of Macy's.

Re: SNEAKY TRICKS FOR SALES......

I always get a rain check if it doesn't say limited.

Most stores know that some people don't want to have to come back.

So they are getting away with it twice.

I have also worked in retail and it isn't the empolyees fault.

Just ask to speak to a manager.

I have had great success with Macy's.
