Venting: Went to Macy's Friday AM to get a Deal of the Day which ran from Friday to Saturday.
There were no women's $20 3-rollerball Vince Camuto kits, only the men's version. Even brought in the newspaper's ad which did NOT say limited quantities. They will not get me in on this trick again---no merchandise advertised for a two-day sale.
Found a BonTon coupon that starts Sunday and is good only on fragrance. Love that store!

I had the same experience at Walgreens but the sales clerk told me that they didn't get any in because in the past the item wasn't popular.

I have a love/hate relationship with Macys. On one hand, they are very low price with all the coupons and sales. On the other hand, they are understaffed and the store is messy and dirty. My local WalMart looks better than my local Macy's. I dislike dealing with the coupons and loyalty cards even though I use them to get the best deals.

Besides playing games with their merchandise, Macy's also plays games with their coupons. There are so many items that are excluded. I used to shop there often, but not anymore. I had to return 2 items to Macy's recently because they had a STRONG perfume smell. The whole store reeks of perfume. I actually had a headache when I left the store.

Seems all the stores run that gimic. Last week I went to CVS for something in their flier. They didn't have it and blamed corporate. They weren't sure if they'd get any in, but would give me a rain check. I didn't bother.

Many years ago, I worked in retail. Corporate would schedule the promotions and do the newspaper ads, but many, MANY times the merchandise didn't arrive to the stores in time for the sale. It wasn't the stores' fault, but we employees sure took a lot of grief from angry customers .... and there was nothing we could do about it!

Indeed, @Tinkrbl44. I used to work at a large department store - much was controlled by TPTB off in some remote office, and when things didn't go according to "plan", those of us on the floor took the flak. It often seemed impossible to fulfill the corporate agenda, and meet the "plan-o-gram". And be nice to customers and represent the company well.

The Macy's I go to used to have the women at the entrance into the actual mall with the perfume that would follow you wanting to spray you with it and be shocked when you said no thank you.
I would zig-zag trying not to be noticed!
They have since stopped.

I don't think anyone can top Belk with the coupon exclusions. I don't even bother to keep them. Useless.
