SIX Phony Apple Calls

[ Edited ]

SIX TIMES TODAY phony robo calls supposedly from Apple about my ICloud account. All within a 2 hour period. Wanting me of course to call a number to speak to an "advisor". All from different numbers that looked local.......except above those numbers one of those very long numbers that start with a V above it on the caller ID.

I called the real Apple support number just to make them aware but apparently it's nothing new, it's been going on for a long time.

So if you get one, don't respond by pressing whatever number it is they tell you to so you can speak to an "adviser". It's a bunch of bull.

@shaggygirl   Why do you even answer your phone?   By answering, you let the know its an active number with a potential sucker at the end of the line.  If I don't recognize the number, I never answer and I get maybe one junk call every 2-3 months.  I figure if it's important, they'll call back but they never do.  I also don't have an answering machine.

@Kachina624  I don't answer, I let it go to voicemail. I can see the number that is calling on my tv and/or hear the spiel as I'm going about my business.

@shaggygirl  I get very similar calls only 'spam' Amazon calls regarding my so called account.  There is no account because anything I order from Amazon has already been paid for. I get a few of these every week and I'm sick of them. I always block them but they call from different phone numbers each time.  For the other poster, it's not as simple as not answering the phone.  The message can show up on your TV or they leave a voicemail.  They are very persistent!  We have had legitimate out of state calls from numbers we did not recognize. We would have missed these calls had we not answered our phone.

Download the Robokiller app it works too good sometimes blocks calls I don't want blocked. It will stop those kind of calls your phone will indicate you received a call, but your phone will not ring the call will be silenced !!

Now that you mention Robokiller you reminded me that my tv/phone/internet provider offers Nomorobo for free. I think I'll check that out. I had forgotten about that, Thanks!

Good you ignore them at @LuvmyLab .  They are scams.  Whenver you order from Amazon you still have an account (doesn't matter that you pay for the stuff).  It works like QVC.  If you have to sign  in to shop that means you have account with Amazon.   Even if you don't have Prime, if you sign in with an email, cell # and have credit card info store there you have an account.

I punched "9" and spoke with a representative and told them to quit calling me or I was going to call the Better Business Bureau and the police.  I then slammed down the phone.  The calls stopped after that.
